I am not making a big deal out of this unofficial holiday, never have and never will. I do think it's nice and all that one day of the year is dedicated to love and loving. But I am of the opinion that love should be present every day, in every relationship, and between all living creatures. There are so many kinds of love and it's an endless resource so why not?! Or as some wise person once said…

Sprinkle That Shit Everywhere!

With that said, it is Valentine’s Day so I will plant a thought and send you this wish. I hope you someday find that special someone you want to walk beside until the end of days, holding hands like it’s nobody’s business. And if you’ve already found this amazing person, hold on to them, hold on tight, and tell them you love them, often and sincerely. Show off your love with pride walking hand in hand through a downtown core.

I took this photo in downtown Kitchener (Ontario, Canada) in 2022, because they were so adorable and I had recently finished a video meme that has an older couple in it. It felt like I was meant to see them, to see it is possible and that this kind of love exists.

The inspiration for the poem and why I took the photo is this video, originally made for Instagram™. This is the End Game, this is the Ultimate Goal, this is the Love we’re looking for. May we all find it, and may it stay with us until the end of our days.

Finally, this is the thought I want to share. Life is incredibly fragile and painfully short, don't spend time trying to predict or foresee the future and second guess your feelings. Take the chance, with an open mind and vulnerable heart, there are no guarantees in life and no reruns, so you might as well dare to take the leap. Send the love note, just call to say ‘I love you’, ask them out, text them a loving message, do whatever you want and do it now. Tomorrow isn't promised, there is no wasted love, you are that special hold-hands-like-no-one-is-watching person for someone as they are to you, there is no love that wasn't worth the effort, and YOU are worthy to be loved and give love. So don't wait.
